ZERO WASTE project's INFO DAY in GENOVA One of the major celebrations for the World Environment Day 2010 is planned to take place in the Italian city of Genova and it includes 3 days events among which conferences on biodiversity and waste management. The City of Genova will host the World Environment Day, June 5th, promoted by United Nations Environment Programme. On the 3rd of June 2010, Eurocities working group on waste management will be gathered in the City Hall of Genova, while on the 4th of June 2010 a conference under the title "Genova for sustainable waste management" will be hosted at Palazzo Rosso - Auditorium. The project "Zero Waste" will be presented at this conference with its activities and opportunities for exchange of best practices on strategies and tools of waste reduction by the Italian partners - Municipality of Ragusa. The presentation of the project is part of the info day organized by the Municipality of Ragusa grabbing the opportunity of the World Environment Day to promote the project and empower policy makers, stakeholders and great public on issues that refer to sustainable waste management, waste reduction and environmental protection. |

The 4th Transnational Meeting of the partnership of the project will take place on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of December 2010 in Ragusa, Sicily (Italy). More information on the Agenda will be soon available.

The Italian National Workshop on the implementation of waste management methods and techniques involving local, regional and national authorities, stakeholders, policy-makers, decision-makers and private bodies will take place in Ragusa on November 30th, 2010. The Lead Partner of the Project will participate in the MED Annual Event that will take place in Thessaloniki, on September 22nd-23rd, 2010, in order to represent the Project Zero Waste.

13/1/2011 - The Greek National Workshop held in
the frame of Zero Waste project took place in the School of
Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Conference
room A. Tsioumis) on Thursday 13th January 2011. The workshop
was organized by the Laboratory of Heat Transfer and
Environmental Engineering and focused on the implementation of
measures for rational waste management in municipalities, while
its subject was ‘Minimization of Municipal Solid Waste:
Challenges, Constraints and Perspectives’. In the attached

TRANSNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON ZERO WASTE APPLICATION “MEDITERRANEAN COOPERATION FOR THE APPLICATION OF SYSTEMS OF SUSTAINABLE MUNICIPAL WASTE MANAGEMENT” Within the premises of the 4TH INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION “ECOTEC” ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES & PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEMS that will take place from 7th to 10th of April 2011 in EXPO ATHENS – ANTHOUSSA ATTIKI, Greece, a parallel event will be organized by Efxini Poli, on Thursday 7th of April 2011, from 12.00 to 18.00, the Transnational Workshop with theme: “Mediterranean cooperation for the application of systems of sustainable municipal waste management”.
